So I am one of those people that loves the sound of the rain on my old tin roof, a good thunderstorm and to be snuggled up on the couch with a good book. But as we know as mamas, kids can get stir crazy on those rainy days. Stuck inside with no where to let their energy run free.
It is pouring today, Hasn't let up since I opened my eyes. These days seem to drag on and on. So coffee is a must! I decided to try out this new kind "Eye opener" girl you best believe thats what I need today to keep up with these kids. (I'll let you know if it was good later)☕
What do you do on your rainy days to entertain your zoo?
I put together a list of some ideas we have done, to make rainy days a little more fun!
*Arts and crafts- Always a big hit in our house and can keep them entertained for hours. Hey, lets keep it real. Who doesn't love that?
*Blanket forts- I have to admit that sometimes a blanket fort is awesome even in your 30s! Don't judge lol
*Movie day- Hit up redbox or Netflix. Grab some popcorn, candy, whatever snacks your family likes. Some cozy blankets and just enjoy some lazy rainy day movies.
*Ball pit- when my kids were little we bought a bunch of those plastic balls and filled a kiddie pool with them for a makeshift ball pit. They LOVED it!
*Baking- Just today my mini baker asked if we could bake some cookies. What better way to spend a chilly rainy day then filling your house with the scent of yummy baked goods. (I just so happen to sneak a little fraction lesson in there. Shhh)
*Teach your dog a new trick- my older daughter loves teaching the puppy new tricks. She laughs her head off at our clumsy little ball of fluff trying to master it.
*Stomp in the puddles- grab a raincoat and just be 5 again! Stomp in the puddles, dance in the rain, have fun!
*Dance party- my daughters and I turn up the music and dance around the house like a bunch of 80s kids who thought they were so cool doing the sprinkler lol.
*Visit a aquarium or museum.....due to the pandemic alot of these places even offer virtual tours and childrens educational classes online.
*Read a good book with your kids
*Make macaroni necklaces and then paint them lots of fun colors
*Set up a small tent inside with blankets and pillows and let the kids have a campus inside.
*Make a scrap book
There are so many fun things to do for people like me who can't seem to sit still. To entertain those energetic kiddos while stuck inside on these rather gloomy days!
So grab some coffee and go make some fun!
