The historic triangle

Happy Monday y'all!

Did anyone spend hours putting together this week's curriculum plans last night? Or was that just me?

I always try to keep things fun, not just book work. But sometimes I'm at a loss for ideas that fit with the flow of the topics we are covering. My mind gets stuck in a brain fog and all I think of is .....chirp chirp....nothing!

Aside from making our model solar systems with only items found around the house.(I had to put an artsy, imaginative swing on things) I decided this week we would

also go explore Colonial Williamsburg to follow along with our History curriculum. (we are loving our Notgrass program by the way!)

How great is it to live in a place so rich in History. Between Yorktown for it's historical surrender field, Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown the first English speaking settlement of the New world, The history and museums of Washington DC, Bacons castle, Walter Reeds birth place, Fort Monroe, Langley air and space museum, George Washingtons birth place, rich history of Black Beard and on and on I could go.... we are so blessed to be surly so much.

What places near you do enjoy taking educational field trips to? What do your children love to do without even realizing they are learning so much?

I love when we can incorporate both fun and learning in one amazing outing? When we get to stretch our legs, think outside the box, get creative and learn.

Dont get me wrong, clearly putting pen to paper is a great tool, but often times when we learn by seeing or doing the information sticks with us much longer.

As fall and winter approach and the 100* days are fewer and far between. Embrace the outdoors and field trips. Embrace the crisp fall leaves,, the changing of seasons,, or for us in the South our second summer lol....After all before we know it all we will want to do is stay in our cozy pj's with a hot cup of coffee teaching in our toasty warm homes watching the snow fall....ok ok I won't jinx us...🤣❄

Enjoy whatever this week throws at you,, and may your coffee be stronger than your childrens attitudes lol.

Have a blessed week y'all!
