Do you ever find you or your family engrossed in the TV because after a long day all you want to do is plop?
Well, last night my family was sitting around watching TV when all the sudden, like the flicking of a light switch I decided, we needed to move! Move our bodies, get outside and enjoy some family time!
Its funny how things like cell phones, Ipads, computers, gaming systems and TVs can reel us in like magnets. Before you know it, minutes turn to hours and you don't know what happened to the day.
In our home we do try to limit TV time, we have no internet/wifi except on mine and my husbands phones and we don't allow video games. But still, sometimes those long days call for a much needed plop on the couch and some relaxation.
Movie nights spent together as a family are totally acceptable, normal even.
Though we need not become so absorbed that we forget to do things like play games as a family, move our bodies, get outside, go for family walks, etc. There are so many things we can do as a family, once it becomes a habit and we get over the laziness that resides after a long busy day.
Remember, It's a great feeling of unity doing something together. And though the couch and a movie night are good sometimes, it was amazing how good it felt to be out at the park, just us and a huge field. Playing Frisbee and laughing. Getting exercise, all while having fun with my family !
