Are you ever desperate for an idea to keep those kiddos busy? No, not a toy that they play with for 5 minutes before the dreaded "Mom, I'm bored". But rather something fun, engaging and creative.
I'd be lying id I told you that I don't get tired of the toys they beg for and never play with. You know, the ones they "Just have to have" play with a few times and then somehow it manages to make its way to the bottom of the toy bin?
Well, yesterday I decided to lay out a trash bag on our floor, some acrylic paints in little paper bowls, sponges of all shapes and sizes and some canvases. My kids and yes even myself had a ball! Before I knew it, almost 2 hrs had passed.
The colors and pictures were jumping off the canvas as I saw the imaginations of my kids personalities unfold.
My mom being the super crafty person she is was watching the girls while I was at an appt yesterday. I came home to them cutting up pictures from magazines and pasting them to canvases making dream boards. My oldest using a hot glue gun and beads to make a beautiful picture of a cross. Little artists hard at work!
It's amazing what little you need to create so much fun for the kids. Most of which you probably have hidden in an art closet somewhere in your house.
So, go grab some coffee, some trash bags and get to it mama! You'll be surprised at how wonderfully creative those little minds are and what fun can be had!
