Pizza box keepsakes

Hey y'all,

This evening I was scrolling through Facebook when I saw a picture of my friends sweet baby girls coloring on a pizza box.

It instantly reminded me of the many moons ago when I was teaching preschool. We had each child in class decorate a pizza box. Construction paper, markers, buttons, anything and everything you could think of. After their master pieces were complete we held on to the boxes. Gradually adding in each beautiful piece of art work they did all year. At the end of the year, their parents received an amazing gift of creativity, and growth their child had created throughout the year.

This would also be a great thing to do at home with your own children.

We made pictures as we worked on colors and letters for example we would have the letter B so we would take a piece of paper and glue on buttons, balloons, bandaid, etc in the shape of the letter B.

Or we would work on the color green and cut out anything we saw that was green and make a collage of green things. Each week a different color, over time creating a "color" book.

Over time the box got quite full, it was so neat seeing how the children progressed in not only hand eye coordination, or staying in the lines, but seeing their creativity take flight as the year went on.

So next time you order pizza, think about all the fun memories you can hold in that little box!
