Only human

Hey y'all,

Happy November 1st. I can't even believe its November. Before you know it 2020 will be behind us. Thank goodness lol.

But first comes the presidential election! Yes, y'all I'm going there!

This morning at church one very brave pastor began a sermon about the presidential debate. He said that he knew he would "possibly piss off someone, make someone's hair on the back of their neck stand up and some may even leave the church and never come back" but that was a risk he was willing to take to deliver this message.

So, you can imagine how engrossed I was to see where this was going. He went on to say with certainty that it didn't matter who gets elected, if we were republican, democrat or liberal. That we should absolutely vote for what we believe is best for our country. But that no matter who wins, it is our duty to submit to their authority. For whoever "team" wins there will inevitably be good and bad things about them. For they are only human!

They are ONLY human! Let that resignate with you for a minute. Think of all we expect from this one man. Higher wages, peace, more money. Lower taxes, health insurance, and on and on.....

He then went on to say, that even though in the United States the President represents the highest of authority, we CAN'T rely on a president for a stable marriage, to give us hope, to be there for us through trials and tears, to answer prayers.

The only one who can do all of those things doesn't get voted into office and most certainly doesn't need debate. It is our one true God!

Now, think about this, In a world so divided by political views and so many other things. We need not be so focused on who is in the white house that we forget to turn our eyes toward Jesus. That we forget to fall to our knees and submit to the authority of man and Pray for our president regardless of who wins the election.

Can we be disappointed? Sure. But does that mean we spend the next 4 years angry and hating our President? Of course not. If we can't change the circumstance you may think the "least" we can do is pray for change, pray for something to happen so we get our way. But on the contrary! The MOST we can do is pray! Pray for OUR president.. pray that the Lord guides him on his difficult journey as he leads our country...Prayer is more powerful than you may think!

Pray for our president, for our country and for the coming years. Pray to God in the highest!

I hope y'all choose to be the praying kind instead of the hating kind.

Goodnight y'all♡
