Mom must haves

Ever wonder what you could do to organize better, or make your days just a little easier? Well here are some mom hacks, I feel could make a difference in your home.

So let's get started....

1.Car clothes- Always keep a little box/bag in your car with extra clothes. Yes, even for older kids. You never know when, mud, ketchup, accidents, or life strikes. You'll be happy you have them. I can't tell you how many times I wish I had them and didn't.

2. Grab and go pouch- Keep a little pencil pouch of little snacks, lollipops etc. In your purse. Not to spoil your child or reward bad behavior. But for those "emergency" moments that you just need a minute of quiet, no tantrums, are on an important call, whatever! You'll know when you need it, trust me!

3. Dignity basket- For those with littles who are just learning to potty train. A dignity drawer is a great idea for them. Keeping a drawer in your bathroom with extra undies, for those accidents. Helps them keep there dignity, much like we want for ourselves in an uncomfortable time.

4. Stairs basket- I can't tell you how many times a day my girls bring something from upstairs, downstairs. However it has a funny way of never going back up. So I keep a basket at the bottom of my stairs as a catch all. At the end of the day we bring it up and it ensures less mess all over my main floor.

5. Dog basket- We have a 6 month old rescue puppy who loves to chew. So, by default she has as many toys as a toddler lol. But to keep them organized we have a small basket in the corner of our living room full of them, low enough she can go over and grab them when she would like....now if only she would put them away when she's done...maybe in time?

6. Over the door shoe organizers- I have a few of the clear ones throughout my house. Hidden on the back of doors, one in my daughters bathroom holding extra toothpastes, shampoos, deodorants, etc. I also have one in our school room with crayons, paint brushes, pencils, paint, etc. Its a great way to hold a lot of different things in a very tidy way.

7. Dollar store first aid kits- I have found its at the most random times, you need a band aid, ice pack, etc. So at the local dollar store I grabbed a little bin and filled it with bandaid, ace bandage, ice packs (the kind you twist and it gets cold), ointments, and anything else I thought would be handy. I keep one at home and one in my car....hopefully I'm ready for most things that come my way.

8. Make shift bunky board- Do you remember those large bunky boards that we used to keep our kids safe in bed when transferring from a crib to bed? Well, for something a little less bulky, or even on vacation at a hotel. You can always use a pool noodle tucked on the edge of the mattress under the fitted sheet. (Only do this if you think your child is ready.)

9. Lemon grass plants- We have an old farmers porch. The girls love sitting out there, eating out there or even playing in the sandbox out there. However, mosquitoes are horrible here! So, I have potted several lemon grass plants along our porch. It is a great way to keep mosquitoes at bay!

10. Silverware holder- My kids are notorious for leaving tooth brushes with drooping paste in the cup on the sink. That was until I bought a plastic silverware tray. It allows one spot for the toothpaste, the others for each of their tooth brushes. When it gets dirty, just a quick toss in the dishwasher and we are good to go!

11.Snack Meals- you don't always need big or elaborate meals. Snack meals like cheese, berries, popcorn, and carrot sticks. Are a great, easy and fun alternative.

12.Crafting free for all- Spread out numerous craft supplies and let the children have a field day. Their imaginations will run wild, and you'll have at least a good hour of keeping the littles busy and engaged.

13. Grocery shopping- ordering groceries online can be a huge time saver...need I say more?

14. Feeling like a grown up- Allowing your children to do some of the things you enjoy, will give you a break and a treat. While allowing them to feel more grown up and involved in that part of your life. Example- Coffee dates. There's no reason they can't go on a coffee date and enjoy a hot chocolate Or maybe get their nails painted while you enjoy a mani. For little boys (girls too) let them play with tools along side dad while he works on the car.

Now, of course there are a million hacks out there. I just hope some of these make your day a little easier.

If you have hacks you'd like to share. Please let me know! I'm always up for any help I can get...

Now go grab some coffee and enjoy your kiddos! Have a wonderful day y'all ♡
