God and the pumpkin

I once heard this story about a 10 year old child who asked a classmate what is was like to be Christian.

This was the classmates response....

“It’s like being a pumpkin:

God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off you may have gotten from the other pumpkins.

Then he cuts the top off and scoops out all the yucky stuff.

He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc.

Then He gives you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.”

Aside from being a brilliant answer from such a young child, this is such a great way to look at the way God works in our lives. I have personally taken the following from this message.....

We are chosen. He has picked us specifically to follow in his image.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit- fruit that will last- and so that whatever you ask in my name the father will give you.” – John 15:16

He washes away all of our sins! Cleaning us from the inside out.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

He removes any negativity and brings joy to our lives.

My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you- I whom you have delivered.” – Psalm 71:23

He bring light into our lives when we follow him.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16

I hope this story makes you think about how blessed we are to have such a loving God, while also bringing a little Autumn fun. Happy Tuesday y'all!🎃
