Do you ever have one of those mornings when everything is going so smoothly? Your kids are laughing, your sipping your coffee, the house is clean...then smack! The realization that something was bound to happen rears its ugly head.
Well that was how my day went yesterday.
We were doing school work like normal, all was well. When my daughter said she needed some water. Off to the kitchen she went, only to find our 6 month old puppy had eaten my husband's boot drier.
Y'all may think, whats the big deal? Puppies chew. However, my husband uses this dang thing everyday. He works 12+hours a day in the heat. The last thing he needs is to go back to work in wet, uncomfortable, swampy feeling boots.
Dare I mention, my husband was somewhat opposed to us getting another dog. By somewhat I mean, almost completely against getting another dog! Seeing 'Fenway our 4 year old black lab is perfect! House broken, well mannered and well...just plain lazy!
So now after all my convincing and showing him picture after picture of what I thought was the cutest little rescue puppy. She decides to chew his boot dryer. Might I add that last week it was his work badge and the week before his flip flops. (Maybe she knows he didn't originally want her lol and its some sort of revenge lol)
Needless to say, I rushed the kids out of the house and headed for the store. Perhaps if I replaced it with out him knowing, I could save this puppy from a ride to the nearest shelter. (Totally kidding!!!!!!)
We are 30 minutes into the drive to the store when my husband calls. He askd what we are up to....As my guilt pours out my mouth I say "well, ummm. Bindi ate your boot dryer"
He literally laughed and told me he can just buy a replacement piece for the cord and all will be well. Seriously?
I was stressed, panicked and thinking as if my husband didn't want this puppy enough.. She follows him around everywhere, tries to sleep on his head and it seems like weekly she eats only his belongings.
But he was fine....laughing? Did I miss someghing?
I guess this all goes to show, we never know what the day will have in store for us. Though, if by chance the day throws you a shark dog who constantly eats everything in sight. You should just roll with it and stop overreacting like some sort of panicked beachcomber.
Now, back to my coffee and relatively smooth day.
