Bible study meets homeschool

Updated: Jul 19, 2023

Hey y'all,

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun as a family?

So as we were diving into school this morning. I got curious. How many of y'all incorporate the bible into your curriculum?

Whether its studying bible verses, reading the Bible together or actually doing a Bible study?

You hear that a lot of Christian families homeschool, due to the values they want instilled in their children from a young age. Though as time moves on more and more families are homeschooling and its becoming more of a social norm.

Now, I wouldn't say gone are the days of people frowning upon homeschoolers. With things like....will your kids be socialized enough? Will they actually keep up with the "standard" of public school peers? Will they get into college?

You know what? The answer is YES!

My children actually get a well diverse exposure to adults and peers while being homeschooled. There for allowing them to hold conversations and interact with people of all ages.

And because of the one on one type environment my children can get a lot more accomplished while moving at their own pace. If they master a lesson we move on, where as, if we need a little more time, we can absolutely take it.

Infact most children that have been homeschooled through highschool score higher on standardized tests and get into colleges with a higher success rate than public school peers.

Homeschooled children actually learn through every day living examples. How to cook, clean, how to balance a checkbook and more. Everyday life offers so many teaching lessons that don't just come from a book.

Teaching my children the word of God and instilling in them the values we as a family desire is icing on the cake.

They have their whole lives to be fed gossip, bullying, sex, drugs, alcohol and other negative influences from the world around them.

Hopefully, by instilling the values of God, community, hard work, communication and family. My children may have a leg up on facing the many things young adults are faced with.

Every morning after doing the Pledge of Allegiance. We take time for prayer and then do our "Bible study". I chose More than words. Its a great little book that covers Bible scripture, memory verses, art, poetry, writing, vocabulary and more. All in a super fun way!

(This study has different books based on age are available.)

What a blessing it is to be able to do what I love everyday. The littlest of things becomes such a treasure I've noticed since homeschooling. I get to watch my children blossom, laugh and conquer day in and day out...... I pray that on your journey you too will find the blessings in the little things.

May your coffee be strong and your Monday wonderful♡
